While settling in Istanbul, Simone Alves (vocals) and Yann Gourvil (guitar, ‘oud, saz, violin, programming) wanted (needed ?) to keep playing and sharing their music, which lead them to create Astrakan Project.

Since their debuts in Brittany (France), they’ve experimented Breton music in many ways, from local band playing folk dancing music to the now iconic Kreiz Breizh Akademi.
